Envoironmental Conduct and Ethics Code

For a sustainable development, the satisfaction of the current needs cannot compromise the needs of the future generations. With this spirit, we have incorporated to our Norms and Procedures the Environmental Conduct and Ethics Code ( click to visualize the code ), which we developed for this Association, also applicable to the whole hotel industry, available in full text in the link below, with the following guidelines:

Assure the support and participation of the main partners and administrators in the implementation of environmental practices and involve in the program everyone who works or renders services to the company, as well as their family members.

Identify and reduce the environmental impacts and risks, even in the planning of new projects and constructions, aiming at the preservation of the local landscape, fauna and flora.

Control and reduce the use of products adverse to the environment, such as asbestos, CFCs, pesticides, as well as toxic, corrosive, infectious, explosive and flammable materials.

Respect the religious and historical objects and locations, the host population, their cultural values and their traditions.

Conserve power, eliminating superfluous lighting and utilizing, whenever possible, alternative sources, low-consumption light bulbs and automatic control equipment, such as timers, sensors and thermostats.

Avoid waste and reduce water consumption, verifying the existence of leaks, collecting and utilizing, when possible, rainwater, seeking to utilize showers, valves and equipment that enable better control and reduction of their need.

Adopt the three Rs of environmental awareness: reduce, reuse and recycle. Analyze the demand for recyclable materials and the flow of solid waste from the company, identifying the main components of the produced garbage, for purposes of appropriate stocking and recycling. Avoid the use of disposable products and of non-recyclable plastic containers.

Eliminate the arbitrary burning of garbage, pastures and deforestation.

Prevent any leakage of non-treated sewage or chemicals harmful to the health into the sea, in the springs and in the water containers. Add organic matter consuming bacteria to the existent traditional sumps and predict environmental sumps for new projects, located in sites not served by the municipal sewage network.

Reduce sound and atmospheric pollution, reducing the emission of noise and, whenever possible, installing filters in the exhausters and replacing the coolant gases for kinds that don’t harm the ozone layer.
